The Franklin Regional School District is planning a Transition Day for students in grades 5 and 8 on Thursday June 4, 2015. All students will report to school on their regular schedule. Students in grades 9-12 will be dismissed at 10:20 a.m.; students in grades 6-7 will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. All elementary students will be dismissed at their regular time.
On June 4, Sloan Students in grade 5 will be transported to the Middle School at 11:30 a.m. The grade 5 students at Heritage and Newlonsburg will walk to the Middle School, escorted by their teachers (buses will be on stand-by in case of inclement weather.) They will have lunch at the Middle School and will remain at the Middle School until they return to their regular buildings at 2:15 p.m. for dismissal at normal time.
On June 4, the grade 8 students will report to the Senior High School at 11:30 a.m. for an orientation program, including lunch and will be dismissed from the Senior High School at 2:58 p.m.
The last day of school for all students will be Friday, June 5. Approximate dismissal times on June 5 will be as follows: Senior High School at 10:20 a.m.; Middle School at 11:15 a.m.; Sloan, Heritage and Elementary Schools at 11:30 a.m. Seniors will participate in graduation rehearsals on June 4 and 5.
Commencement exercises are scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, June 5 in the Franklin Regional Stadium, weather permitting. If inclement weather threatens, the ceremony will be moved indoors with admission by ticket only. There will be additional parking at Sloan Elementary School with shuttles running to the High School beginning at 5: 30 p.m. through approximately 6:15 p.m. Return shuttles will begin upon completion of the Commencement exercises.
